SWITCHERLAND

Switcherland is a Federal Republic in Central Europe and is still not a member of the European Union. The country is very mountainous with a total of 74 mountain ranges with heights greater than 4.000mtr.. Switzerland is divided into 26 cantons and 7 large areas:

Eastern Switzerland, Zürich, Central Switzerland, Northwest Switzerland, the Espace Middle land, the region Lemanique and Ticino.

The capital of the country and the biggest city is Zürich with a population of 367.000.

Climate:

The country can be divided into 4 different climate regions: Jurabogen, Middle Land, Foothills of the Alps and Southern Switcherland. In the north of the Alps it is a relatively temperate middle European climate. In the south of the Alps we have a Mediterranean climate.

There are areas in Switcherland with rainfall of about 2.000mm per year but also areas where rainfall is rare, less than 500mm per year. Also, there are large variations in temperatures which have dependance on altitude.St. Moritz has more than 300 sunny days per year.
