GREECE
Greece is a Parliamentary Republic and is located in the eastern Mediterranean basin in south-eastern Europe. In 1981 Greece became a member ofhe European Union.
The country can be mainly divided in the following areas:
Mainland (Saloniki and Athens are the biggest cities) - Peloponnesus islands (more than 3.000!)
Greece has more than 15,000 kilometres of coastline but approx. 80% of the country consist of mountains or hills, making the country one of the most mountainous in Europe.

Climate:
The climate is a relatively temperate Mediterranean climate a very pleasant climate with low humidity. Summers in Greece are usually very hot with a temperature between 30 35C. During the winter temperatures are between 14-16C. It rains very rarely and on Crete, the most southern area of Europe, the sun shines on more than 300 days, sometimes even 330 days a year.
